Eight Years With don Miguel

For eight years Linda, my wife of 40 years, and I trained directly with don Miguel Ruiz, writer of The Four Agreements. The Four Agreements book would be a considerable triumph, selling presently well over four million books around the world. But what are the Four Agreements and how can they so impact the everyday lives of millions?

For starters, let's take a look at the Agreements on their own:

1. Be Impeccable with Your Word
2. Don't Take Anything Personally
3. Don't Make Assumptions
4. Always Do Your Best

The simplicity of the Four Agreements themselves has long been appealing. Furthermore, they seem to make flawless sense. Why wouldn't virtually anyone want to strive to apply the Four Agreements? Still, time and again, there exists the snag most of us have in genuinely abiding by these Agreements. And why is it so difficult for most to abide by these clear-cut standards? The challenge appears to be in the way we think. It is unconscious thinking to be exact.

Going in opposition to these Agreements happens unconsciously. We usually do not make a decision to take issues personally or make assumptions. We just do it once a trigger consideration raises up in the mind. Possibly your mom says that thing she usually says that causes you to take the thing that she said personally. We don t decide to become hurt by the criticism. We simply think unfavorable thoughts and experience hurt feelings. What can we do?

CTypes - The DNA of Thinking

Two decades ago Linda and I stumbled upon a body of information that reshaped our lives and our relationships forever. It's identified as Character Types (CTypes) of the mind. These explain how every person thinks. CTypes are created in each particular individual via sun signs of the Western Zodiac. Every different sun sign thinks in a different way. As an example, Gemini insights and beliefs are made differently in comparison with Sagittarius thoughts. And we know that the way in which we think creates a lot of our actions.

Not surprisingly, if we can be familiar with a person's thinking, we will better understand and relate with that individual. Significantly, if we can fully grasp how we think, we can also observe ourselves more genuinely. This includes problem thinking comparable to taking things personally. The secret to making the Four Agreements real for us is being familiar with and applying CTypes to the problem aspects of our lives.

If you want to make the Four Agreements a portion of you, take into consideration applying CTypes to your practice of them. Character Types work like nothing else to get to the bottom of setbacks in relationships at home, on the job, and in the world. And, for the first time, there is at this time considerably more information offered for people who desire to utilize and practice CTypes with loved ones and at work.
